So seldom has one individual, admired around the world, personified the cause of preserving biological diversity and reminding us of humanity’s place in it. Directly or indirectly, Jane Goodall connected with millions of hearts.

While the was synonymous with her research on chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, she admitted to being enchanted by the gravitational pull of Yellowstone—a park she too had dreamed of visiting—and after it happened when she was a senior citizen, she became a champion of ecosystem protection in this region. We’re happy to say Goodall counted herself a reader of Yellowstonian.

A remembrance of Goodall will be held Wednesday, November 12 at the National Cathedral in Washington DC. It begins at 11 am Eastern/ 9 am Mountain Time and will be live-streamed for anyone wishing to tune in. You can find the link by clicking here to reach the Jane Goodall Institute webpage.
