Matt Barnes is a rangeland scientist, wildlife conservationist, and former ranch manager. He works on Reintegrating Wildness in working landscapes, as a research associate with the Northern Rockies Conservation Cooperative, headquartered in Jackson Hole. He works with land managers to improve rangeland stewardship, and has worked with ranchers to prevent conflicts with large carnivores such as grizzly bears and wolves in Montana and Wyoming. He is also a science advisor and board member of the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project in Colorado.
