Author: Ben Sherman

Ben Sherman was born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and, as a Lakota, was a member of the Olgala Sioux Tribe. He was, among many things, a trained aerospace engineer, indigenous cosmologist, forerunner and global leader in promoting culturally-sensitive tourism around the world, a teacher, civil rights activist and mentor to many. He wrote this piece originally to appear on a website overseen by Yellowstonian founder Todd Wilkinson. Ben Sherman (1939-2016).
