Author: Melissa Blessing

It’s hard to provide a concise biography when it only serves as a snapshot in time, when the lives of individuals continue to evolve. When asked for a brief description to accompany her essay, Melissa Blessing wrote, “That’s me, in the photo, heading out the front door for work along the west side the Bridgers just on the other side of it. I grew up rich but found that the only thing to love about wealth was land to live on. As my Guadalupe did our family’s home work for us, I ran wild among the wild. Since the whole world works jobs away from home for capitalism, life has been lonely but endlessly instructive. Earth became my mother, mentor and faith. I have learned more than I thought I would. Earth knows the story of our next brilliant future. I can tell that story too.” Blessing wants to help inspire people of means to express their gratitude for Nature by helping them find substantive meaning in supporting efforts that protect landscapes—especially wild and pastoral ones— from being consumed. She is the daughter of parents who played a key role in supporting conservation efforts aimed at protecting the larger Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
