Author: Dennis Glick

Dennis Glick, who calls Livingston, Montana home, recently retired from a lifelong career spanning four decades in conservation and sustainable development, working both in Greater Yellowstone and internationally in Central America. Regarding the latter, after volunteering to serve in the Peace Corps, he was a program director for the World Wildlife Fund. He worked with indigenous and other local people in designing protected areas aimed at safeguarding biodiversity, cultural traditions and sustainable communities. In Greater Yellowstone, he was at the forefront of assessing the impacts of sprawl on private lands and local communities, and calling attention to the negative spillover effects on public lands. Notably, in the 1990s, he was among a handful of professional conservationists to testify about the negative ecological cumulative impacts that would come with subsequent ballooning development at Big Sky. As an avid four-season outdoor enthusiast, he loves navigating the backcountry at low speed and trying to minimize the impact of his presence on wildlife.
